Inception Review

Going into this movie I didn't know what to expect. Of course i wasn't oblivious to the hype surrounding the film with the collaboration of Leonardo DiCaprio X Christopher Nolan in a summer block buster. Those planning to see a standard sci-fi flick or a Cookie cutter Hollywood film should be disappointed.The simplest way to summarize what inception is it's a heist movie but that is not nearly enough to explain the scope, depth, and magnitude of this film. In the world of Inception Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a extractor or thief of the mind he is the best in the world and make's his living off of this but his job ultimately tears his family apart. Cobb is accompanied by Arthur ( Joseph Gordon - Levitt) who is his partner in crime they try to extract a idea from Saito ( Ken Wanntabe) a powerful business man. Saito later enlist the help of Cobb to plant a idea into a competitors head hence the title Inception. Cobb puts together a team filled with a strong supporting cast each with a different purpose for the mission of planting a idea in Robert Fischer Jr.( Cillian Murphy) head. The Team consist of Cobb himself, Arthur, Ariadne ( Ellen Page), Eames (Tom Hardy), and Yusuf (Dileep Rao). Each member of the team has a job essential to the mission of planting the idea Cobb is the defacto leader, Arthur is the point man who job is to research the mark, Ariadne is the Architect who job is to create the dream world, Eames is a forger who can become anybody in a dream, and Yusuf is a chemist who creates the deep sleep sedatives. Inception is not for the occasional movie fan it needs participation of the audience to pay attention to what is going on if a person was 30 minutes late to the show they would be confused. As complex as Inception is it is a interesting concept and Nolan does a great job in telling the story visually and through dialogue. This is shown early in a conversation between Ariadne and Cobb they are in a dream and Cobb explains the rules while Ariadne bends the rules of the world all around them. The special effect displayed in this film are unlike any seen in a movie before. For those movie goers tired of Hollywood's endless sequels and remakes Inception will be a breath of fresh air a interesting idea that stands out. This movie is a instant classic and I give it a 10/10. Inception tagline should hopefully inspire new directors and producers on the "idea" of a original film. "What's the most resilient parasite? An Idea. A single idea from the human mind can build cities. An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules. Which is why I have to steal it. ". New filmmakers should go to sleep and try to steal Nolan's idea on making an original film because Inception is the start of a new breed of films that challenge the audience.
